The mission of the Irish Supercomputer List is the promotion, advocacy and advancement of High Performance Computing (HPC) on the island of Ireland. The two primary questions the list seeks to answer are:
- What is the landscape of HPC in Ireland today?
- Where does this landscape fit globally?
The first Irish Supercomputer List was released on November 27, 2013. The Irish Supercomputer List is a catalogue of High Performance Computing installations geographically located in Ireland. The list is now in continuous participation with all stakeholders in the Irish HPC community.
The Irish Supercomputer List aims to provide an accurate picture of the Irish HPC landscape. The list ranks Irish HPC installations using the Linpack performance benchmark which is also used by the Top500 (www.top500.org) and other lists.
