In June 2018, the Top500 Supercomputer List had five new Irish machines, bringing Ireland’s total number of current Top500 installations to 7, with a combined performance of over 9 Petaflops. The aggregate power of all 35 machines on the Irish Supercomputer List now tops 11.7 Petaflops.
All 5 new machines are owned by “Software Company (M)“, which owns 12 machines in Ireland now. It is believed that these are private industry machines not available to HPC researchers and academics, which is a growing cause of concern in the community.
